Thank you to AIM

Girlguiding Norfolk’s Archive Resource Centre (the ARC) has reached its tenth anniversary in 2026, what an achievement! This deserves to be celebrated; what better way than reviewing our collection care to see how we can improve the position we have reached, through the advice of an expert. The ARC had two short-term experts at the very beginning, funded through National Lottery Heritage funds and that feels like a very long time ago now!
And so, having been members of AIM for most of this time, we felt it would be appropriate to apply for funding. The process was very accessible and requirements on the application form very do-able.  The conservator who visited was very positive and encouraging and easy to discuss situations with. She worked thoroughly and promptly and made the experience very worthwhile;  we hope to do more work with her. Enabled to take a fresh look at our collection, we will embed the actions recommended into our Future Plan, the report giving evidence and justification of what is required, hopefully supporting funding applications. The legacy will be a continuing focus on sustainability and growth through ensuring continuing long-term preservation and conservation of the collection.
