Talks for schools and adult groups

You don’t need to be a member of Girlguiding to enjoy our resources.

We welcome visits from schools and adult groups, such as Women’s Institutes and U3A (University of the Third Age). You can book a visit to the ARC to enjoy one of our sessions – either a ready-made workshop or a bespoke session tailored to your particular interest. We are also happy to visit local schools and groups.

For schools we can lead an assembly on Thinking Day (Girlguiding)and Founders Day (Scouting). A session on how Guides and Scouts helped with war effort supports the primary history curriculum.

For adult groups we can talk about the story of the ARC and bring our loan boxes for reminiscence sessions. The story of uniforms in guiding is always popular as visitors relive their past!

We are also happy to give talks and our volunteers can offer outreach workshops on request and we have a selection of displays and presentations available to borrow.
