Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the ARC – without them, the project just couldn’t happen.

A regular band of dedicated ARC conservators meet every Monday to work on particular projects. But others volunteer remotely on tasks such typing, transcribing, sewing and data entry.

No specific qualifications are needed – we can find a role to suit your interests and you will soon pick up new skills.

Some of our volunteers come to us for work experience while others are working on awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Others just like being part of a group of like minded people who enjoy working together. There is a huge range of jobs we need help with.

We need volunteers who can:
· Make tea
· Communicate with visitors
· Help with publicity and social media
· Lead sessions
· Sew – by hand or machine
· Type and input data
· Help organise and create resources and events
· Take minutes of meetings
· Take photos
· Do fundraising
· Undertake mini-projects
· Do research – and find things in our comprehensive collection

You may also have a specialist skill connected to guiding heritage – if so, we’d love to hear from you.
